“Boys are an asset, girls a burden” : A sickening mindset

“Boys are an asset, girls a burden”. This is ludicrous, and bordering on a MORAL CRIME ! 

Many girls who are married off before they turn 18 or are forced into early marriages are made to leave school, depriving them of their right to education and future independence. Child brides are also more likely to experience domestic violence. 

Girl child marriage occurred throughout history as a result of poverty, entrenched gender inequality, bride price or dowry, religious and social pressures, and illiteracy.

The fact that some parents are willing to subject their daughters to this horrible  predicament is unspeakable. The young girls are deprived of their right to experience normal childhood. It’s a shame that  females still have to fight for the permission to exist.
