Hard Work in Marriage That You Might Never Take Seriously Before
1. To agree to disagree.
No two people agree on everything. Be okay with each other’s differences.
2. Listen first, don’t interrupt.
Not everyone is able to read minds. Understand before being understood.
3. Never start with ‘you’.
Start with ‘I’ to prevent blame game. Share your feeling instead of thought.
4. Learn to appreciate.
Or else, it will be hard to forgive mistakes. Appreciate from the smallest act to the biggest!
5. Respect each other.
Avoid verbal and physical abuse! Keep the insult to yourself.
6. Spare special time.
Prioritise relationship over the career. Make it quality time together.
Most importantly, all of these are for BOTH!
“Why doesn’t she…” “Why doesn’t he…” No, they are for both husband and wife!
“Love doesn’t just sit there, like a stone, it has to be made, like bread; remade all the time, made new.” (Ursula K. Le Guin, The Lathe of Heaven)
